Removing buttons from a Tankstick
« on: July 13, 2012, 08:15:43 pm »
I am a newbie that built his first arcade and went with a Tankstick. I am getting an overlay graphic and want to remove all the buttons and joysticks when I apply the graphic. I have loosened all the buttons but want to know the best way to remove them. How does the sensor (or whatever it is) come off of the actual button? I just don't want to break anything and is this the way you remove the buttons.

Thanks,
Scott

First remove the switches from the bottom of the buttons.  Then unscrew the nuts from the bottom of the buttons.  It's a good idea to label the switches before you remove them so you know where to reconnect them later.

Thanks!! Do the switches just pull off? I am afraid of breaking them...is there a trick.

Thanks,
Scott

Just an FYI while you have it apart.  If you ever wanted just one more button, the tankstick has an extra input for the middle mouse button that isn't used.  I added a dedicated exit button: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=100885.0
