LED help
« on: July 11, 2012, 08:39:00 pm »
I am putting the final design work on a Jukebox...this is my learning project before I start my MAME machine...I have all the parts for the Jukebox...HP desktop with windows 7...Planar 23" touchscreen...2 Kenwood speakers to cannibalize...Kenwood 150wpc amp with preamp...MDF...T-molding...everything to make it work...but not to make it pretty..I'm wanting to use 2-1/4" pieces of Lexan as my surround for my Touchscreen...put LED's around the edges, like a "Writing Board Sign"...use the  Florescent markers to "Graffiti" the back piece of plexi and cover it with the other...hence my question, Will the light travel through the 1/4" plexi like it does with the 1/2" the writing boards are usually made from? and do I need UV leds or can I just use the RGB type...Ive never worked with LED's before, so ANY help is appreciated! :notworthy:
