Another (rare) Craigslist Success Story
« on: July 07, 2012, 09:03:05 pm »
saw a ms.pac about 45 minutes away, emailed the guy, he said it was first come first serve, so I started driving :)

this was the cab as it sat at his house, when I got there:

and here it is in my garage:

It does NOT work, monitor has power but there are some issues with the board. I emailed 2 bits and they replied within minutes (seriously) said if I sent the 2 bits parts, they'd check it out and replace the broken parts for $22. I replied back asking if I could just send them the whole board in case, they gave me the green light, said they'd replace the 2 bits parts and call me if more stuff is wrong.

daughter board pin header: (pin 20? is broken)

and the game rom is missing a leg:

the neat thing about the ABC kit is it lets you play PacMan and MsPacMan (with optional speed hack). Still $250 is a steal for this cab, even if the side art is vinyl and not painted

That looks awesome, good grab. Why don't you solder a wire from the broken pin onto the pcb trace and see if it works!

thought about it, but Id rather not start hacking at this otherwise pristine board. I need to take a picture of it before I ship it off, its a legit midway board, but it has a sticker that says PACKMAN. I have faith that 2bits can fix it at a reasonable price

Why didn't you buy the pinball machine?

He said if he ever sells the joker poker he'll let me know. It had 2 broken drop targets, but they can be replaced.

so after poking around with it for a couple days, and sending my board off to 2 bits, I got it working. What do you think the issue really was?

This:

2 of them to be exact. 5Amp fuses in a 7AMP fuse holder. I replaced them with 7.5AMP fuses

This popped up:

and Haruman told me it was the test switch in the coin door, and it was. +fu for figuring it out in 3 seconds.

and here she is:

game is way too easy and not fun with the speed up hack, Ive contacted 2bits about it , since they reburnt the rom for me

more to come on twobits if they ever return my last email

so twobits ended up over charging me $22 , finally got it straightened out today. They are going to ship me a slow mspacman and a slow pacman rom to make up for the error, hopefully a rom puller too.
