Building my first cabinet! Questions.....

OK....so after yearning for a cocktail MAME cabinet for a long time, I'm finally getting around to building one.
I'm having a hell of a time finding much in the way of measurements. The Kyle Lindstrom stuff is small and hard to read, plus the "instructions" file doesn't seem to work for me. After doing some feeble research here's what I've come up with for dimensions-
28wX30dX30h. I know that's a few inches wider than
"normal", but I have also seen comments about how tight space is inside the cab. The top of my cab will probably go out flush to the edges and I plan to put this thing on wheels so I can roll it from room to room in my house. (yes, I measured my doorways first to make sure it will fit). Any comments and guidance would be hugely appreciated!!!!

Sorry i have not got any advice (im building a upright cab) but id thought id say good luck!

I can measure mine if you would like, but mine is a 13" screen model, how large of a screen are you using?

You might consider trying out the cocktail cabinet plans on gamecabinetsinc.com.  I just bought a set for the upright I'm going to build, and I'm pretty impressed with them.  I don't have much in the way of woodworking experience, so it's important for me to have nice clear, concise instructions.  Plus the advice on how to layout the parts on the wood is going to save me a little money, I think.

Also, the first (and only) cabinet I ever scratchbuilt was a cocktail. I built it in one day without plans, and it came out just fine. I eventually traded off just the cabinet/panel (no monitor, or computer), and last I heard it was a Ladybug or something.

Also, why so wide on the cabinet. Not even the huge 4-player cocktails were that wide. i have always considered 24" to be both the ideal and maximum width for any cabinet with a monitor under 27".
