  • Arcade!? - Never! - Really? - Yup!
screen resolutions
« on: June 19, 2012, 12:03:43 am »
hi all, i've been racking my brain for a few hours and can't seem to work my resolutions out.

I have a 24 inch screen  currently set at 1900x1200.

All is well except when i play my vertical games the full screen isn't used (about an inch on top and bottom not used)
Interestingly when i set it at 800x600 the games are full screen - the issue is then with mala as a 600x800 mala layout looks pixilated and terrible.

My question: is it possible to have mala configured to show at 1900x1200 and when i launch a game it switches to 800x600 res?

cheers
Adam
My art is always free for you to download and modify as you see fit...
Why?... because I could never find any art I loved on the net. So I played around with Photoshop and wish to share it with the arcade community.

There are command line apps that switch resolution. Qres is one of them. I personally have not used it. But I'm sure you could set it up as a pre/post option in MaLa. Or wrap MAME or whatever emu in a batch file that runs qres before and after your emu.
