Wow, lots of hate for the X-Arcade.
It's not the best hardware money can buy, but it works and it gets you started with zero real effort. Or is that what some people don't like? That it's an easy shortcut?
I've got a tankstick and with it, an old laptop, and a card table I set up a quickie game station playing NBA Jam on a 42" plasma TV. The kiddies loved it. They actually liked it better than my dedicated cab. The screen was too small, they said. (grr

)
Sure you can build something better/cheaper, but how many people do you think are willing to do that, versus how many people are willing to buy a $100 joystick? The X-Arcade is great because it lets more people in the door to this hobby.
