Hi I recently purchased an original ms pacman arcade and area 51 site 4 with original cabinet... I'm wondering how to set area 51 to limited ammo with reloading. It's set on unlimited ammo right now. Also there are white lines on area 51 screen that are very light.. But very annoying. Any solutions to these problems? Also does anyone know how to set the game music to play on ms pacman when your not actually playing the game? Thanks a lot for the help. I just got into arcades and new to the forum. Can't wait to get more!

The International Arcade Museum and the associated KLOV Forums are a real treasure trove of information for arcade cab specific questions.  Lots of manuals available in IAM, but I didn't see an Area 51 Site 4 manual or any dipswitch settings for Ms.Pac.

Good luck.

Just remembereed this link to more manuals, pinouts, etc.

Look under manuals for the Ms. Pac Man manual.

If you're collecting the older games, I hope you know how to troubleshoot.  If not, I hope you learn. :)

P.S. Just found this thread with the Area 51, site 4 manual.

There is no way to enable attract sound on pacman/ms pac. Most games of this vintage didn't have sound in the attract mode, although there were a few that did and there was usually a dipswitch setting to enable it.

Definitely grab copies of the manuals for your games.

All of the resources that I am aware of (now including Antelope Arcade -- tks PL1 ) are listed in the wiki:

http://wiki.arcadecontrols.com/wiki/Restoration#Game_Manuals.2C_Schematics

- I believe boardjunkie is correct about the attract sounds on MsPac.

- Yes, the marquee on MsPac is supposed to light up -- remove the marquee retainer and have a look. IIRC, MsPac was a basic florescent fixture and is usually easy to fix with either a new bulb or a new starter.

- I think that most of the settings for A51 can be access from the test menu (accessed using the test swtich, usually located just behind the coin door).

- Please post of pic of the "white lines" in A51 -- sounds like the brightness is too high.

Can't totally say without seeing but it sounds like the screen voltage on the A51 monitor may be a bit high. On the back of the monitor, located on the flyback, there should be two small trim-pot knobs. One is for focus and one should be marked screen. Turning the screen knob just a hair counter clockwise may take care of the problem (and darken the picture a little).
Its always best to do some research on the monitors first and be careful what you touch in there.

The Ms Pacman probably needs a bulb and starter. You can always replace the whole unit with a light unit from Home Depot for $10 or so

The HV (second anode) is not adjustable. Yer talking about the screen voltage, which there is a control for on the flyback along with focus. They are marked as such....
