NSM Wall Mounted stopped working

Hi

I'm having problems with my NSM Country Classic 50 Disc Jukebox, everything was working perfectly until today, it had been on for about 20 minutes i selected a few tracks to play the first one played then i noticed there were no credits remaining so i opened it up and pressed the credit button a few times, closed the door then selected a few tracks the first of which was on CD 32, i walked away but noticed after a few minutes it wasnt playing, i went back and selected CD 32 again and it said on the display "Sorry title selection failed, title currently locked out" if i try to play any other CD it loads it up but then returns it and says "No valid disc found!" all the discs are genuine discs and have all played with no problems before. Only other info i can give is that this is the first time i have let the credits run out i usually top them up when they get under 10 but didnt notice this time.

a few thing's here will cause that problem
use the throuble-shotting guide
place the machine in service mode >key-on<
and chk the way the cd-platfourm is working
ie load a disk unload a disk,play xx disk etc
if it passes this test
then have a look see at your dallas battery back-up ram chip
this will fail after xx time,get back to me and i will walk with u
as i have all nsm stuff

i have a msn juke2000 wall unit
had a similar problem, played one track on a cd....and not another..skipped through the tracks selected really anoying.
i thought it was maybe copied discs ect. i tried originals along with burned discs..sometimes said no disc.
juke picked um out..and dropped them back very quickly..that was the credit disapearing..
came up with some error codes..
one error was the lazer thingy..can`t remember what it named it as..
i searched around to buy one..jukebox parts ect..
i was going to bin the juke, but then my son said to manually clean the lazer eye as it would not play the brought cd lazer cleaner.

i took the thingy apart..cleaned the eye ..lense thingy with the fluid you get in the cd cleaning kits with a cotton bud.
and to say it worked well..
been running now for some months great with no probs.
sorry to name it as thingy..but without looking thats what it is..

thats the optic laser
and yes alot of time's cleaning them will do the trick
the >cdm< laser platfourm was a pain in the butt to say the least

the real trick is to go easy with the cleaning,philp's dropped the ball on cdm2/3/4 by cdm5 nsm went to seeburg and all was fine
if this dose not fix the nick's problem ?
then we will be doing trouble shooting

Thanks for the replies, I'll get some lens cleaner tomorrow and give it a try, if that does cure it how do i unlock the disc number that is currently locked?

Sorry you'll have to bear with me, i'm a complete novice when it comes to these machines, the only key that came with it was the one for opening the front, where could i get a service key and also is there anywhere i can get a service manual for it? where does the service key go? just incase it is in but not turned on.

it's ok we can go slow
in the box should b a spot for a key to go
it will be the service key
could even be on the back of the machine
i do believe it is normally open and the switch colse's the circuit
thus putting it in service
please post the exact model # or atleast the exact name beside's nsm
i will dig out my manual's

NSM Country Classic i think its a year 2000 model, when switch on the following shows on the display i presume some of this will be the model number. ES6  1.07e MBC III 0109 (068)

the name is what i needed
sound's like a cdm6 platfourm
the way to tell is to look at the cd changer
ie where the laser is
is it a small platfourm or a large 1
if u can take a pic and up-load it can better tell u
the service key should be on the side or inside by the centeral
which is beside the amp

i just went  through some ppw
on that plate standing up
that carries the speaker jack's and the audio jack's
it appear's there is a key hole there correct ?
if so that is your service key point

I managed to get it into service mode, it is a button at the top beside the tube light that needs to be pulled out to put it into service mode, when i try to perform a cd changer test it loads up no problem but still says no disc. It passed all the other tests CPU, Memory etc. Am i right in thinking its the laser at fault?

follow the rules when doing it >read<

>I find you can use a standard digital camera (I used a Nikon Coolpix for this test) and you are able to see on the camera view screen if the laser is lighting up. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO LOOK DIRECTLY AT THE LASER LENS AS IT MAY DAMAGE YOUR EYE(S)! Make a selection (no CD to be played) and then aim the camera over the lens just off angle slightly and you should see a white light in the middle of the lens flashing slowly on/off/on a few times while it hunts for the (non-existent) CD. No light? Check power to player, etc.<

good to see your getting sorted..

Manuals can be found at the boneyard website...
it used to be FREE pdf downloads but now year`s subscription, maybe they have what you need.

i did download every manual they had a year past, that wasnt being greedy but just heinsight i guess for any future juke box i may have purchased.
i did look to them for you and i have all of what they had at that time on MSN and not got the one you mention, but i do reckon a lot work the same with same guts if ya like, if any other manual i have is of use to you then email over. you r welcome to all i have as they were FREE.

Thanks for all the help guys, got in touch with the guy i had bought the jukebox from he was very helpful, i just removed the laser posted it to him and he sent me another one FOC, stuck it in and all now working, again many thanks for all the advice.
