mala and emumovies
« on: April 29, 2012, 02:34:40 am »
OK I have everything setup for my mala frontend but I can't get the snap videos to work. I have them pointed to where they are in the directory and when I start mala it will show the snapshot, marquee, and control panel and then it will turn to a black screen where the snapshot is and video should be playing but its just a black screen. I'm using Space-Port Cabinet by Buried-Egg layout. I have tried the most recent version (1.74) and also the beta one(1.745) which should work for mp4 format but still nothing. Any help would be great.

Thanks

Circo

The MP4's work fine with the beta, have you checked if your theme has a video layer?

I will check on that but I also downloaded the malavideotester and dropped and dragged the mp4 in it and it just gives me a weird sound and no video. I made sure I had the options checked to play videos also in mala. The mp4 plays using real player so I know the file is not corrupt. Shouldn't the mp4 work in the malavideotester?

Thanks again for the help I will try and download another layout.

Well I just created a simple layout using the space invaders moon background and used the control panel, snap shot and put the video over the snap shot and same result. Shows everything and then the video part over laps the snap shot but it's still just a black box. :(

- video path settings wrong
- problems with the layout
- missing codecs , try another codec pack or convert the mp4s to avi via a tool like pazera mp4 to avi .

I downloaded the http://www.xvid.org/ codes and also tried mp4 and dvi video snapshots. I created a folder called videos and put it in the mala folder and have the video in there and settings pointed to the folder. Have another codec pac I should use? Sorry for the noob question but would love to use the video snaps of the games. I have everything else working including background music (arcade ambient sounds).

Thanks again for the help everyone.
