Quick Mala question

If anyone can oblige please, did a search but not finding anything. 

I'm nearly done on my cocktail cab bar a couple of niggling things and the main one is :

Every time I start a game in Mala and the fullscreen picture "Starting Game" flashes up on the screen I get a 1-2 second flash of the gameslist/menu before the game loads.

I've trawled through the options and can't seem to get it to go away!  As far as I remember it didn't do that on my old cab (also ran Mala).


Any help appreciated.

In case I didn't make it clear in my first post what's happening is the game starting screen is popping up (fine) but then instead of instantly starting the game as it should - the screen is reverting back to the Mala list for 1-2 seconds.

It's not a massive issue but it's annoying enough for me to want to get rid of it.

Happens to me too.  Doesn't bother me too much.

does it do it if you use the small starting game splash screen?  Or have you tried substituting a different image for the stock file for the fullscreen image?  upgrade to 174.5 beta or downgrade back to 174 release?  I don't know why but stuff like this has fixed start screen issues for me in the past.

No, it doesn't do it on the small splash screen just the stock large one.  Anyone got a screen I can use/test?  I couldn't find one to use when searching so just used the stock thing...

Failing that I will do what you suggested TopJimmyCooks and check what version I'm using etc, although I really don't like the idea of having to set it all up again, took me ages!

The differences in MALA from one ver to the next are pretty minimal, there shouldn't be much if anything you have to resetup if you switch to a newer version.

I would try crafting up your own "Small" loading screen that just happens to be the size of the full window, and use it.

Addendum, check the Config, GUI/GameStartQuit tab and check or uncheck the use full screen start image.

Try using the small start image, but just making it the size of the whole screen (or close enough).

no sweat to change versions. just copy the new executable over the old.  settings are kept in mala.ini or somewhere similar.  Also, any pic will work for a temporary fullsize splash screen.  On my full screen starting logo, I made sure the image was the same size/resolution as the screen, so it wouldn't have to stretch.
