Hello guys.
I have been reading these forums for many months, and have already built my first MAME cocktail cabinet.
I cheated a bit and used a cabinet kit for that (my wood working skills and tools don't allow for some of the works of art I have seen built on here).
I am trained in electronics however, so score well in that department instead.
Before I built the MAME cab, I restored a complete basket case 70's jukebox (it was given to me FOC) so can't complain.
It's a 70's Rockola 474 Sybaris, I enjoyed every minute of it's restore.
The machine is working beautifully now, trouble is I want another one. Living in the UK they don't seem to be as plentiful
as they are across the pond. There is the small issue of space too.
I particularly like the styling of the 70's Jukes the Rockola 459 and 460.
Being no stranger to the use of the fantastic E-Touch software, I have decided to build a mini version of the machine.
It will be using an ACER Aspire Netbook (well the guts of one). And an 8.9" touch panel.
For the Audio side a 2.1 PC speaker system (logitech) mounted in the base box with the PSU's etc.
I only started last night, but so far I have the top panel cut and the computer parts installed, and fully tested (the panel is that where the selection cards normally go)
I didn't get chance to take any photos yet but intend to over the weekend.
I hope that I can put something back into the forum that others have inspired me to do.
I am not quite sure yet how to include pics in posts, but have hopefully attached a pic of the machine I am trying to replicate in miniature.
Regards
Pete
