The reason I posted this second link is because it seems that free stuff is supposed to go into the generic 'official free stuff' thread, where it's not likely to get noticed, and quickly gets buried.
Stuff for sale, on the other hand, is allowed to start a new thread with a new subject title, and is thus much more visible.  So if I asked for £1 for it, I'd be allowed to make it much more visible than when I'm giving it away...
