0-60 Need for Speed inspired Racing Cabinet Build
« on: April 05, 2012, 07:42:24 pm »
Inspired by the zero to sixty need for speed racing cabinet I decided to follow the plans and build my own. Currently working on the graphics, here is a link to my blog where I have some pics of the build.

Plans were pretty complete, didn't need to make a lot of changes, it is a lot bigger than I pictured though.

Looks good but what are you planning to do with the screen?  Will it be a projection screen or is that part not built yet?

Just needs the spoiler installed now, some art, the z906 sound system I have coming for it from Logitech and it's done.  Fully playable now though, impressed wiht how adjustable it is.  Tilt and telescopic wheel, and sliding and tilt chair.  Mounted a buttkicker which works great using zap straps right onto the foam seat, very potent.

hmm your picture doesn't appear to display anymore. but looking at your video it looks very similar to my set up :)

how did you mount the buttkicker? im using an mr2 seat and bolted a clark synthesis transducer to one of the cross members that the seat bolts too and then another one to the bottom of the seat itself using brackets.
I then used rubber between the seat mounts and the chassis, so that all the rumble would be kept within the seat and not lost through the chassis.

And then sat each of the the chassis legs on rubber just to make sure none was going in to the floor, seems to work well.

have you got a video of the chassis itself? you not thinking of sticking a PC in there too ? ;)
should be uploading a video of mine by next week
