Where can I find a Trackball Wire Harness
« on: September 28, 2003, 02:29:17 pm »
Does anyone have any idea where I can find a track ball wire harness only, with having to buy an entirely new whole trackball.

There's been an *ahem* incident with the wiring of my current harness.

Thanks!
Hey, wha' happen'd?

Exactly what part of the harness has been mutilated?
You could probably put one together yourself with some wire and a couple of molex connectors; how messed up can a harness get?

Didja check Bob Roberts?  (I don't know what kind of a trackball it's for, so maybe tell us that too?)

BobRoberts and Happs both sell these.

In this instance, the happs is 85 cents cheaper than BobRoberts, not including taxes and shipping, but Bob also has a different betson/wico model ($7.15 [@happs[ vs Bob's $8.00 [atari] or $9.00 [betson/wico]).  Without looking at what BobRoberts has, I think the only difference is the betson/wico has the extra, and usually not used, green grounding wire.

You can buy everything you need from Radio Shack.

Wire, solder and a mouse = about 5$.

Once you read a few of the mouse hack tutorials it seems like a waste of money (and time if you figure in shipping) to buy anything premade.

Try this one...

I'm pretty new, so I might be confused about just what you need, but Oscar also has them for $8.  I like ordering from Oscar because he seems like a nice guy.  Plus my Vortex Spinner rocks!

Thanks for the help everyone! Does anyone happen to know the part number for the happs harness? I haven't had much luck today finding in a search on there website. I'll keep plugging away, but if anyone knows and has a couple of seconds to post it, It will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again!

Didn't look at my happs link above, huh? It links directly to the part. ;)
Here it is again: Happs harness

The Oscar harness connects the TB harness to a mouse.  I think he wants the TB harness.
I don't have anything against oscar controls, though; great products!

Thanks rebel! (I totally missed the Happs was a link, guess it's time to upgrade the monitor too).

Thanks again!

:)  (was just doggin' ya) ;)

That's the one thing about the light blue background on these forums: it makes the blue linked text harder to tell it's linked.  [shrug]  Same thing with inline links; the links get hidden inside the middle of the sentence.

Glad to be of some help, thought.  :)
