Phoenix arcade game play question?
« on: March 31, 2012, 12:40:27 pm »
"Phoenix arcade" This is one of my all time favorites from 1980. Well I was playing this morning and my usual high score would be around 22-25k but today i was able to reach over 200K. I think i hit 3 flying birds in a row to acheive this score i was only on level 4 round 2 at the time but im not 100% sure if thats what it was. I did some research but didnt find anything on it. Has anyone seen this or done this before.

This is a bug.  The same thing happened to me and my hi-score is now fixed for all time.  Shooting three birds in a row overwrites the most significant digits of the hi-score RAM.

I think the TG rules on this say it's not allowed. I've done it by accident, and then purposely. It's cute. Doesn't really count, though, and under one hundred thousand real points you can tell the score of someone who's gotten far.
