New to the sceen but long time game lover

To the people who want things retro, I'm sorry in advance...

I'm not building a cab that's going to mimic my childhood and I'm not restoring anything.

My idea is a bit weird...

I'm making a 4 player Mame showcase cab with a twist.

I'm adding a arches that will go up and behind the podium.  They will contain speaker wire...

For what you say? Speakers!

Let me back up...

I have an extra 5.1 surround sound receiver in my garage that is going to power my Mame.
I will have 5.1 surround on my Mame cab!

Also, I'm going to have extra wide elbow room for the 4 players. :o I hate going to an arcade and feeling to fat. I don't want others to feel the same way. I know I will get flack for the 5.1 because games aren't in surround. I will however counter with this.. I'm doing a Mame  build and it will have emulators on it as well. Some game on playstation 1 and up were in surround.

OK... any thoughts? Please try to be nice lol

Whatever makes you happy.   Sounds like a good project.   How wide will the showcase be?   Word to the wise,  don't say anything about angling the player 3 and 4 controls.  ;D

No, I don't want to angle it. Honestly the whole build will look like a damn ride at an amusement park lol

I just want everyone to get immersed in the game.

Ample shoulder room and kick ass sound. Maybe some flashy lights and crap but I want the sound and playability to be my number one goal. Who cares how kick ass your cab looks if you can't play it.

I went to this gaming expo in WI a couple weekends ago, it was awesome!

I hope to show up with this cab!

God I'm nerdy lol

Has anyone put surround in Mame cabs before?
