Having trouble with corrupted screensaver videos in Mala
« on: March 25, 2012, 08:15:26 pm »
I downloaded a bunch of mpegs from emumovies and converted them to avis to work as a mala screensaver video.  The videos are 320 x 200.  Anyway, I couldn't see them, so I installed Klite codec pack.   Now I can see them, but most are very corrupted.  There are all sorts of blocks and things superimposed over the video, and the colors are off.  It looks like some other random memory location is overlayed on the video.

Windows media player runs them perfectly.

What can I do?

Hmm... anybody?

More info:   There seems to be a color separation problem.  One of the color channels (I think red) seems to be exploded to a larger scale and superimposed on the other colors.

The other thing is that if I play a MAME game, the screen savers don't get corrupted.  If I play the "Midway Arcade Treasures" game list (a commercial game CD) the screen saver is corrupted.  If I don't play a game at all, it gets corrupted.  There is a video that I made based on the Arcade 84 video that is never corrupted.

I think it has to do with the codec used on the emumovies and how they use the video ram, but I have no idea what to do about it.
