New control panel
« on: March 20, 2012, 09:27:19 pm »
Bought this two player control panel last night with trackball and two joysticks and six buttons per player, the guy I bought this from said he had the buttons configure his way when it was built,I tried playing mortal combat and one side works and for player one and some of the players for player two,do I need to take this apart and wire the wires accordingly or is there a way to configure these buttons.

Not really sure what you're saying there.  Are you saying player 1 works but player 2 has issues?  You'll probably have to get inside regardless to make sure it's looking right.  Can you take some pictures and post them here so we know the layout and what controller you're using or if you're using a hack.

Check your button assignments in MAME before you take anything apart!

It's a slim stick control panel I noticed that the joystick will work for player 2 while the buttons don't all work although some of the player 1 buttons work.it is very confusing I would like to configure it so that all the buttons work the way they're supposed to.i guess I will have to take it apart and rewire things.

Check your button assignments in MAME before you take anything apart!

As Yotsuya mentioned, if you're using the CP with MAME, use TAB from within your game to configure the buttons there.  Other emulators have similar configurable options.  Otherwise, did the control panel come with or have software available to download online that can be used to configure its software internally?  If you're using Windows and it's detected as a USB game controller you may also be able to do some tweaking from the Windows Game Controllers Control Panel options.

If you're saying some of the buttons physically don't work at all then I'm sorry.  I've never opened a Slikstick panel, but I'm guessing it's similar to others.
