Visual Pinball - a couple of questions
« on: March 18, 2012, 07:21:57 pm »
I've just installed Visual pinball in my cab (8.1). I have a couple of problems I cant find the answer to.

1/ When I launch vp (from Mala) the mouse pointer is visible in the centre of the screen. Is this normal, and is there an easy way to stop this?

2/ With some of the older tables I can add credits and operate flippers, but when I press start the ball does not appear.

3/ When you launch some of the tables (such as Adams Family) a window pops up allowing you to select country etc. Is there a way to stop this popping up every time?

Some older tables have a separate button to raise the ball into the chute.

I dont get that screen but I am using VP 9

I'll be you went to the "official" visual pinball website right?  That thing has been dead for years.  The most current version of vp is 9.12.  The difference between 8 and 9 and the tables made in 8 and 9 is like night and day.  All of the problems you just mentioned will go away if you upgrade to 9.  The vp 9 megapins, for example, have a checkbox that you can click to quit asking you which rom to use.  ;)

Go to vpforums.org and get setup there.

As for the mouse pointer, my wrapper or any of the vp wrappers/launchers will take care of that, but once you press a key it goes away anyway.

2/   Solved - Thanks BobA  :applaud:

3/   Solved - I just realised that there is a tick box to "Hide menu on startup". Doh.

1/   The mouse pointer does dissapear when you press any button. I guess I can live with this is there is no easy fix.

Your wrapper needs updating, for the eleventy'th time...
