Arcade Buttons for Volume Up/Volume Down
« on: March 16, 2012, 10:58:12 pm »
I am using an ipac and have seen people setup 2 arcade pushbuttons for volume control (one for Volume Up, the other for Down). I've researched this, but haven't seen clearly how to set up one button to bring the PC volume controls. does anybody know how to set this up?

If you are running the latest version of the WinIpac software, there should be an option to configure buttons as volume controls.  I think it was one of the right-click options when assigning buttons.  The catch is that your firmware needs to support it too.  I think the latest Ipac version does, but only as of last year sometime.  In my case I'm using the MiniPAC, and it does support it (although I bought it a year earlier so I had to send it away to have it upgraded, which Andy did for no charge!).

I received my ipac about a week ago, of I'm understanding correctly it should be taken care of in the disc that came with?

I have a years old IPAC...I have a dedicated admin button that brings up the volume slider.

Then I have the joystick Left/Right assigned to adjust the slider up or down.

Im using a simple program called: Active Keys, and it works perfectly. With that program, you can set your arcade buttons to all sorts of functions on your PC. Highly recommendable.

I'd check the right-click menu when configuring the keys.  If volume isn't one of the options, download the latest version from Ultimarc's web site.
