While playing a few "real" games at an actual arcade yesterday (Castles & Coasters in Phoenix), I was reminded how awesome leaf switches are compared to microswitches, and got to wondering:  Has anybody tried replacing the microswitches on a Happ Competition stick with either the GGG Micro-Leafs or Paradise Arcade Rollie Leaf Switches?

This is mostly out of random curiosity... I didn't turn much up in a search.  But I definitely plan to replace some pushbutton switches on my cab in the near future (you'd think I'd have figured this out already from the four vintage dedicated cabs I have, but in my defense, only two of them have standard buttons)...

Honestly the best way to get decent leaf controls at a good price is simply to buy old populated control panels on ebay. Nothing good on there buy it now at the moment, but it isn't all that odd to be able to pick up a pair of Wico leafs and a half dozen leaf buttons for about $25 shipped.

Trying to rig a Happ competition wouldn't be as effective as just getting a proper leaf stick, although perfect 360's are a very close feel to leaf sticks.
Acceptance of Zen philosophy is marred slightly by the nagging thought that if all things are interconnected, then all things must be in some way involved with Pauly Shore.

I don't doubt that, but I figured that somebody in this looney bin had tried a DIY mod by now.

I haven't done the mod with the Micro-Leaf but I have done a 'silent running' mod with the Versa Micro switches on Sanwa sticks.  I wouldn't go back to standard cherry switch sticks after using these.
