Control Panel Graphics
« on: March 04, 2012, 11:27:22 am »
Just wondering why everyone seems to get these really high quality vinyl control panel overlays from places like gameongraphix and then they just cover the art and control panel with acrylic anyways.   If covering with acrylic, why not just get some sort of poster printing done for a fraction of the cost?   Just sayin

That's what I did with my Arkanoid. Just printed on 2 pieces of photo paper and lined the graphics up, covered with lexan. Doesn't look great, but for the price it's pretty impressive...

That's what I am thinking.   Why drop $45 on a CPO that is really durable when I am just going to cover it with acrylic to protect it.

Personally, I didn't use plexi over the CP.  I really like how my Gameongrafix print looks and so far it's been plenty durable.

Yep I did a photo poster from Costco; $15 shipped. Looks great under my lexan. Probably wouldn't want it on a game getting a lot of "traffic" in a frat house or something (probably would do well if a beer spilled on it etc) but for normal home use I think it does the job nicely.

I didn't.... I had my cp overlay printed on a vinyl adhesive with a emerytex overlay which makes it durable and uv resistant..  Not a big fan of plexiglas cp covers because it's a PITA if anything ever gets inbetween the cp and the plexiglas.
