Need some lit pushbutton help, for my nephew
« on: February 21, 2012, 01:34:40 pm »
I built my Cab about 7 years ago, and made my own lit pushbuttons, I like them, but it was more work than I care to repeat.

So, now my nephew has dreamed of building his own cabinet for all of these years and his dad (my brother-in-law) is helping him with my assistance.
Cabinet, Marque, Bezel, Monitor, and KB drawer are complete and we're working on the buttons.
We want to order some led lit buttons and I'm just not informed on the latest and greatest (I haven't been keeping up with this site).
I thought I'd order some NovaGems (I got my buttons from GGG years ago) and help him install them, but they've been out-of-stock for at least a month, maybe longer.

Can anyone recommend a good lit button to use and a source to buy them?
A simple colored (R, G, B ,Y, O, P) 5v or 12v LED setup, wired directly to the PC power supply. (I can do the wiring so a wiring harness / cable is not necessary).
Would also like a clear pushbutton that we can add a label to for 1 / 2 person selection.

Suggestions please on something durable with good looks. (similar to the NovaGems)

Thanks!

Going on a year. I had a cab waiting on them last year, but I eventually had to use some non-lit buttons. Still waiting for them to show up so I can order them, but I'm not holding my breath.

I've bought both clear and colored transluscent IL buttons from Paradise Arcade Shop. Match them up with a light module from there, and you should be fine.
