This monday and tuesday (29th and 30th of december) we will be building a complete arcade cabinet at the headquarters of Tweakers.net. Tweakers.net is the biggest techy website in the Netherlands. The build can be followed live on twitter.

I think it's a really cool idea. I'll be watching this one the coming days if only because Tweakers.net is my favorite tech news site too. EMDB is even listed there : http://tweakers.net/downloads/34018/emdb-217.html

On monday we started at around 11:00 and worked till 17:30, on tuesday we started at 9:30 and the cabinet was finished around 18:30. So it actually took less than 16 hours to build the cabinet.

Of course most of the raw materials were already there, so we only needed 1 extra trip to the DIY store for some bolts and washers.

Tweakers posted a really cool video of the 48hr build challenge. Lots of powertool pr0n and 'nude' shots of the cabinet.

Interview is in dutch, but it's just me telling what we were doing and who the team members are (using a lot of words)

crazy cool and simple.

I love how you distilled a bunch of great cab ideas and best practices down into something so polished and easy. Using this build as a reference one could build themselves a whole collection of simple, nice looking, dedicated or control specific cabs. one a week.
