Smallest microswitch buttons
« on: February 17, 2012, 02:13:52 pm »
Hiya, I'm looking for the smallest microswitch buttons around for a minicade.

I have found these ones:
http://www.gremlinsolutions.co.uk/products/miniroundbutton.htm
but was wondering if anyone knows of any others?

Cheers,

DJLins.

I was looking at those for my Mini arcade but I thought they would be to small for what I was looking for. You could try tactical switches. They don't have that smooth pressing feel but they can get pretty small you can try Digikey.

I have some of those that I have used for reset buttons but they have lousy feel and imprecise action if used as player buttons.

If you want to use them for action buttons, and want them to "kinda" look like normal arcade buttons I would use

http://www.gremlinsolutions.co.uk/products/minimomentarypushbuttons.htm

They sill arnt great but more than usable

Even most of the plastic "Game in a joystick" deals use buttons that are almost full sized arcade buttons. You can get a joystick and 2 full size buttons on roughly 5" of real estate.
