PC without case, looking for harnesses (power/USB/audio)
« on: February 02, 2012, 05:28:57 pm »
I am planning on using a mini itx board (atom) for my bartop and have no need for a case. Does anyone know where I can find harnesses and front panels that plug into the pins on the motherboard? I figured it would be convenient to have this panel mounted into the back of the cabinet. It seems to be a waste of $40 just to rip apart a case for its harnesses and front panel.

Might not be exactly what your looking for
but I found this

Honestly, though, you can usually find old cases in surplus supply houses for less than the cost of a new front panel, and you can usually yank all sorts of other bits from the case.

Finally, what elements of a front panel are you wanting to expose? If it's just a power button, and maybe a power LED and HDD led, that's easy, no need for a panel there.

You can also get the individual leds like this
