AdvanceMAME cmd line help?
« on: September 23, 2003, 09:26:11 am »
All,

Can anyone point me to a good resource for configuring AdvanceMAME command line options.  I have it up and running via AdvanceMenu thanks to the EasyMAME Cab website but when I try to pass it flags such as "-ctrlr SlikStik " or "-skip_disclaimer" it fails saying that the cmd line argument is incorrent.

Does AdvanceMAME support all the same cmd line options as the regular Windows MAME, and if so is there different syntas that gets appended to the .exe in the rc files?

I don't know about those options, but you can read up on advmame and all its options here:

Yea I had read those docs before.  But it just doesnt seem like AdvanceMAME supports important cmd line options like skipping the game info and game disclaimer screens.  Hopefully I am wrong and it does support all the Windows MAME cmd line options.

Duh, I should have caught that!

But how do I enable a third-party controller (SlikStik) via AdvanceMAME?  I cant find any option such as  "-ctrlr SlikStik" in regular windows MAME.

I dont think advancemame has support for that.  (I could be wrong) However it is VERY easy to reporgram the keys.  If you need help let me know!

Why wont AdvanceMAME remember my color depth preferences for certain games, Ex. Ms PacMan.. even when I set to BGR 16 and save via the Video menu within the emulator, it still goes back to Auto color depth and is garbled the next time I launch the game?
