To switch encoders or not to switch?
« on: January 28, 2012, 11:56:34 am »
After 2 sons and a 4 year hiatus I'm back!
I know, who the heck are you?
Quick recap my machine was violated by unsavory characters right before my first son was born and since that time I haven't had the heart or time to fix it. Well that's about to change, but wanted to ask it's been 6 years since I actually built my machine obviously software has changed and there are all sorts of new bells and whistles but has encoding changed much? I'm using 2 Hangstrom encoders and I'm planning on adding LEDs with the KeyWiz led boards. I understand they are two separate pieces of equipment, but wasn't sure if any new encoder tech might work better with new computers or programs etc or if I'm good to go with what I have. Any Advice?

Either way, it's good to be back and hope you're all well.
