Rowe R-90 Jukebox error code questions
« on: January 16, 2012, 11:07:32 am »
Hello everyone! I'm new to this forum, I have a few errors on my Rowe R-90 jukebox Error codes 4,9 & 30. I read the owner manual it reads that I need to replace the computer for error codes 4 & 9 but it doesn't say what computer. Then error code 30, I have no clue what they are talking about. Owner manual reads defective optical switch, or Mechanism control index ("I") potentiometer misadjusted. Ok for the error codes 4&9 do I need to replace a computer or is there something else I can do? And if anyone can explain the error code 30. I appreciate all the help in advance.....Jerry

Hello Jerry,

The errors are as follows:-

Error 4 The CCC (Central Control Computer) onboard battery is low, check the voltage with no power to the jukebox the voltage should be 3 volts.

Error 9 relates to the coin switch (follow ERR7 for the fix)

Error 30 relates to issues with the opto switch adjustments or dirt on the sensor/gearing
Clean the opto switch and gears and adjust as per the manual

Clear all the errors and check to see if any re-occur.

& it's at 3.07 volts so that's good. But the error won't clear when I try and clear it. If the CCC board goes out what stops working? Another thing is there a way to bypass the coin & bill accepter because I'm using this in my house. Thanks for your time. Talk with you soon still have the one error 30. Just cleaning & that should take care of that error....Jerry

Hi Jerry,

You need to get into the progamming mode and go to number 27 and set the number from 0 to 255 press the POPULAR button to save the setting.

Did you check the battery voltage with the jukebox turned off?

Alan, ok I put it in program mode & changed all of that. The problem I have now the light stay lit that reads selection playing. The tone arm won't move over and the gripper bow is down & turn table spins. If I put it in service and hit the scan/cancel button the gripper arm goes up and gets a record, but the tone arm doesn't move. I'm getting there things are starting to come to life with your help....Thanks, Jerry

Hi Jerry,

Have you checked the Tone arm cam? where it engaged with the collor there is a peg that locates the cam into the collor, this can break off also on the thin section of the cam this can also break.

I would also look at the power supply board to see if there are any dry joints (cold joints USA) on the connection pins out to the Molex plug and on the connections from the transformer.
