49-way Joystick Dilemma
« on: January 11, 2012, 03:12:47 pm »
So my first cabinet was built a while back, a long while back.  The GPwiz49 was the new hot thing introducing the first ever digital switched joystick mode.  This worked out great although I was pissed when the U360 came out.

So fast forward 5ish years.  My cabinet software is old.  I need a serious update to all of it.  I think I may even be running a beta version of ledblinky to power my electric ice buttons.  I am going to reinstall everything but I wanted to get a hardware question answered.

Do 49-way joystick optics deteriorate or get out of calibration?  My 49s came from ebay where they came from an old machine.  Right now many games don't respond very well, but I am not sure if it is hardware or software related.

Any suggestions on the hardware side of things?  Software I will be updating shortly.

Buy some U360s. ;)

??? What's new with the beta version?

Edit: Looking over in the LEDBlinky thread, I think you might be talking about a version 3 beta. Nevermind.
