MAME insists that I'm holding up/right on my joystick . . .

It's a newly wired IPAC 4. I don't get it. Every single game is behaving this way. But when I'm in the OS, Notepad, WinIPAC, there is no indication of any stuck keys. Notepad and WinIPAC both give proper responses to all my joystick presses. Any idea what could cause this?

In Mame, hit TAB and see if Mame shows up or up AND right for your entry.  I mean, the corresponding keyboard entries for "up"...  You may just need to set it again in Mame.

Weird. That seems to do the trick, though it already had the correct key mappings. I think the problem is that it said that a particular action could be accomplished with the keyboard or joystick. I don't have any joysticks attached, though. I had to go through and clear out all the mappings and remap them, but now it seems to be working properly.

Had a problem with Aimtraks actually showing up as joysticks (for the auxiliary buttons). Pushing the buttons caused it to go up-right. Got any Aimtraks on your setup?

Nope . . . at first I thought that it might have been my Perfect 360 joysticks, and I still think it might have been, but now I'm not so sure. Aside from those I have a couple Happ Rotaries, which I think are more or less Supers, a couple of Happ top-fires and a Galaga/Ms. Pac 20th anniversary stick. It's all tastefully done, though. No Frankenpanel going on.   ;D
