ROWE CD 100 E SOUND IS VERY VERY VERY LOW

I would like to know if you could please help me.

I have a Rowe 100 E CD Jukebox that I've had just a little while.

I've been using it with a Pioneer Stereo Amplifier that I put inside as the amplifier that came with it was not working....the amp when plugged in, would play some real "tinny" music for litterally 3 seconds as it would then quickly fade out to silence and make no sound.

I've since obtained another amplifier just like the one that is shot.  I bought it on ebay and they assured me it worked (let's take their word for it for now).  I unhooked my pioneer amp (which was doing quite nicely except for the fact it makes the door prop open just a bit due to it's size) and then placed the new amp inside and plugged it in (I also made sure the fuses on the back were not blown before hooking it up).

I have sound, but it is SOO LOW that only a mouse could hear it.  It is only heard if you put your ear right against a speaker. I've turned all the knobs on the amp EQ and of course the volume control in back as well.

I'm have no idea how the crossover works (the thing with the two round copper coils side by side) or the other "thing" that is above the amp.  (the thing with the two black boxes on each side and the line of screws along the edge).

Can you give me an explination of how or a photo of how these should be wired ?  or a suggestion on what could be my issue?

I cannot tell you how much I would appreciate your assistance!!!

Those two large black transformers above the amplifier compartment are the output transformers for the speakers. Between them is the terminal strip for connecting the volume control. You have the red wire on the wrong terminal. Move it over one more terminal to the right.

OH MY GOSH!  AWESOME!  I'm so happy dude!  THANKS SO MUCH!  That wire was like that when it came, i've not touched it so I left it as is when i got the box......until now!   Way cool !.   I would like to hook up 2 external large sony speakers and 1 way cool external "big daddy" subwoofer to this, if you don't mind???  how ??    If you don't have time to help with this 2nd and final issue, I understand.......You made my YEAR ! and it's only the 6th!! MAN OH MAN I CAN'T THANK YOU ENOUGH!!!

External speaker connections are detailed in your manuals set. Here is a place that has the manuals:

You will need to know the impedance of the external speakers you want to hook up to the jukebox in order to wire them correctly so as not to damage the amplifier.

any external amp is hooked as such

pre in to main amp >juke-box< amp to pre in to external amp
u do this with a rca >y< splitter,as in your photo

the red and black
u >y< them rca style
run them into the aux amp
place them in your >aux input< or cd input of the aux amp
this will allow u to bypass the :line: transformer's: ie :the black box's:
which are used for impedance and line matching  ie 2/4/6/8/16 ohm or 72 volt output to aux speakers,at that point u are using a aux ampifiler as stated in post #1 and #2
u are line in and can gain overall control,
where ken nailed the volume control correct
if u want to hook a :aux: amp to it

do it through :line-control:

so can I just hook them up the stripped wires to the terminals ?  If so, which ones.
the two sony speakers are.....:
sony model: ssu7030
speaker system rated imedance 8ohms
max. input power 240w

and the DBX subwoofer is Frequency range: 19-500 Hz
Power handling: 800 watts RMS/1,100 watts max
Impedance: 4 ohms
Frequency at Resonance (Fs): 24 Hz
Sensitivity: 91.7 dB

I assume these are ok?  and from the little I know, I thought it would hurt speakers and not amp, so I'm glad I'm asking

Hello christographer,

I can see from one of your pictures that there is already a connection into the Aux input/output plug with connections to the outputon the amplifier.
The blue, green and black/white (common/ground) will have an output of around 600mv, this is the ideal output into a slave amplifier.
Trace out where these cables go to. Use these connections to supply a slave amplifier to power up your speakers. These speakers are to powerfull to connect to the output of the Rowe Ami amp which is rated up to 125 watts per channel.

Sorry to hijack this conversation but I am dealing with a similar problem. I want to plug the jukebox into a seperate amp and I don't want the jukebox volume to affect the volume of the speakers on the seperate amp. If I were a bit smarter I would understand eds post above. I see the red and black CD inputs and I also see the aux output. Can I just split the black and red and run it to another amp or is it best to use the aux out?

It gives all kinds of inputs/outputs both to and from the amplifier and before & after the jukebox volume control. It's very versatile and has tons of RCA jacks on it.
