Midway Arcade Cabinet LCD advice
« on: January 04, 2012, 11:44:41 am »
Hi all,

My second Wells Gardner just died on me and I'm thinking of building an LCD monitor into my Midway MK4 cabinet.
I found this on the net http://www.trmk.org/news/18683/trmks_mortal_kombat_2011_launch_day_coverage.html but when I lookup the sizes of the asus monitor it seems that it's too big for my cab  ???

Do you have any suggestions for a good price/quality monitor that fit's my Midway cabinet?

Thanks in advance,

Can somebody tell me if there is a difference in the size of Mortal Kombat 4 cabinets vs 3-2-1? (or maybe American and Europe cabs??)

I found a lot of people who build in 26/27 inch monitors to their Midway cabinets, but when I look at the dimensions they just not fit into my cab...
And of course I want to build in the biggest monitor possible  :P
Example of MK 2 with 26 inch monitor : http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=113963.msg1226381#msg1226381

Sorry for all the questions folks, but I'm kinda stuck here...

What is the inside dimension of your cabinet?  Are you looking for the biggest widescreen lcd monitor or the biggest 4:3 lcd monitor?  You will need to go to at least a 24" widescreen to get the same vertical resolution as found on a 20" 4:3 monitor.

It's 63,5 wide, so the LG might just fit in it... If you look at the MK 2 (see previous link) it seems like its a bith wider.
A big 4:3 LCD would be nice but isn't really necessary. I just want to go as big as possible with good quality (MAME) of course
