Heck yeah. The opportunity to regularly work on up-to-date equipment and have a few brains to tap into on occasion rather than working in a cramped workshop I share with my wife on equipment that pre-dates the Kennedy administration.

Wy would you build that?  Don't they have a CNC router at the techshop?  You don't want your own...  You don't want a machine taking up all the space in your garage or workshop, you don't want the dust, you don't want the electric bill at the end of the month...

Use the tech shop for all you can.  Your effort to build a CNC will not e required until you surpass what the tech shop will allow you to do on their CNS.

I got big plans ...

plus

I got CnC fever ...

The TS is great, but its FAR (140 miles round trip/ gas money) and TS fee isnt cheap.

I got in early and got the TS guys all excited about the MechMate.

I am taking 13 classes and going at it ....

I live in my forever home ...

Do it right is my thinking ...

I think the Dallas/Ft Worth metro area would be a very profitable location for a TechShop.  8)

Complete mini arcade cabinet plans available.

Damn Jason! I had no idea you were getting into CNC. Good luck with the build, be patient, the learning curve is worth it.
