GUI key mapping question
« on: December 15, 2011, 10:24:28 pm »
Hi all,

Is it possible to map multiple keys to a specific MaLa GUI function?

I'd like to be able to use both p1 & p2 joysticks to scroll game lists but it doesn't seem like i can...

I could be wrong, but I don't think I am.  But I don't believe there is a formal way to truly assign two keys to something like that in Mala.  You could try reading the thread to see what others have done.  Looks like some may have used an AHK script, but if you have the ability to remap your keys on the fly for your keyboard encoder, that is another option as well.

From the ui, you can't. Multiple entries in the ini are probably a no-no, too, but you can try it.

Darn ... anyone think this is something future releases might include?

Not sure.  I feel like loadman might have said once that it wasn't likely, but I'm not positive.  But I would be interested in that as well, so I hope I'm wrong!

I was able to do this with AHK.  I made 2pstart and coin buttons able to start a game in addition to 1p start mapped in MaLa, but it could easily be P2  joystick scrolling the gamelist.  If there's any interest I can post it up.  I am no AHK expert but there are guys here who are doing incredible things with it.  I.e. Nitz.
