Thinking of buying this Cabinet with parts - What is it worth?
« on: December 15, 2011, 06:06:59 pm »
There is a guy selling this cabinet plus extra game boards in my area.  I really only want the cabinet.  What would you say the monitor and game boards are worth?

Here are the details....

Tekken Tag Tournament Arcade Game

- extra games included: World Rally, Shadow Force, Marvel Superheroes, X-Men, Balloon Balloon, Soul Edge (I assume it includes the Tekken Tag Tournament board as well)
- also comes with steering wheel / gas pedal and fighting controls (two control panels)
- brand new monitor
- coin neck and key

I'm not sure of the condition other than what is shown in the pictures.  I would likely sell the boards and monitor and keep the controls.

He's asking $300.

thanks,

Well, I did some checking on eBay and it looks like I could fetch a few bucks.  Here are my estimates based on completed auctions.....

Tekken Tag Tournament: ~$75
World Rally: ~$10 (more with controls)
Shadow Force: ~$10
Marvel Super Heroes: ~$50
X-Men: ~$30-$90
Balloon Balloon: ~$15
Soul Edge: ~$5
Arcade Monitor: ~$50 - $100

total between $245 to $355

Does that sound about right?

That sounds great...but are you sure the boards are working? For that price I've gotta wonder.

If they are working though, $300 is a great deal for that lot. Heck, even if they aren't working, $300 isn't horrible for a cabinet with 2 CPs and a brand new monitor (I would definitely ask to see the monitor working though).

Let us know how this plays out. :)

Indeed.

I assumed it was the new monitor running in the first picture, but that one has burn in so I'm not so sure now.

D'oh! I guess I didn't look that closely at the pics. :-[

Yeah, if it has burn in, that's not exactly what I'd call a new monitor. Even still, if the cab is in good shape and the burn in isn't too bad, $300 is not a terrible price, but I would use the burn in as a bargaining point and see if you can talk him down a little.
