Indeed. Also, was the post limit for B/S/T removed recently? All that wedding dress crap was only posted in B/S/T from the spammer's first post on.

never been much of an SMF fan myself but is there any way to add a better captcha or challenge question to the registration process? Maybe that will curb the spam registrations.

It was causing more headaches than it was helping. Spammers just spammed other forums, and there are some legit new users who just want to buy or sell something on topic.

maybe you should consider a donation drive to upgrade the forums from mybb to something like vbulletin or ipb?
