Hi Bob,

Steps for removing the gripper bow assembly:-

Remove both toggle solenoids (you can leave the cables on) lay them on mechanism.
Look at the left & right record guides and remove the lower of the two screws.
Pul the guides slightly forward, you may have to slacken the uper screws.
Remove the two trunnion pins that the trunnion pivots on.
One these two pins are removed the gripper bow assembly can be withdrawn.

You need to fully strip down the assembly by removing the lock screw to do this you may have to grip the shaft of the inner shoe.

Once all the parts are de-assembled wash them in soapy warm water to remove any traces of lubrication. Inspect the gearing on the gripper bow for any wear or damage and do the same on the cam & trunnion gear. If there is any damage or wear then replace the parts.

Re-assemble the parts and put high melting point grease in the ends of the trunnion.

Alan

Hi Alan

Thanks for the help you are giving me.I tryed to clean the gripper arm without taking it out.I did clean the gripper arm where it graps the record and it played fine for five records. Now the arm is sitting to high above the record. So when it goes to retrieve it,it slips and the record stays on the turntable instead of going back to the magazine. Also now when the arm gets a record from the magazine, somtimes it stops half way to the turntable.Sunday I'm going to try and take the gripper out.Do you think the gripper is bad or am I doing something wrong. Thanks

Also Alan I tried to adjust the tone arm cam according to the manual, but now luck. Can you tell me the correct way to do it.Thanks again.
