FS - Laser engraving/cutting (willing to trade)
« on: September 17, 2003, 07:24:03 pm »
I have a laser cutting/engraving laser. Essential the machine works like a normal printer, printing from the computer. It can to work that is very intricate and classy.

This machine is not going to cut out your cabinate, so quite dreaming ;D. It will however add a layer of design. Some of the things you might consder is a wood inlay (see below), some kind of decorative plastic, an small symbol or logo engraved into your plexiglass, or precision cutting your controll panell artwork. The possibilities are really only limited by your vision.

The cost is likely not what you think it is. We charge by the time it takes to cut, not what it's cutting. E-mail me and I can give you an estimate. Keep in mind that I am deffinatly willing to trade services, so if you've got something I need that your just getting rid of, you can get something really swank on your cabinate/control panell. Items that I need are listed below, if you've got something else, offer it, I might be interested.

The laser requires Corel Draw file format, so I can tell you how to lay it out and give you the specs and you can give us the file ready to engrave (saving you money), if you can't do this than for a charge we could get it laser ready. We do have an on staff graphic designer so we could also have something designed for you. It all depends on how much you want to spend, or have to trade  ;)

Here are some examples of what is possible with the laser...

Also here is a link to what the laser is primarily used for. These are for scrapbooking. (maybe help convince the wife ;) )

A computer. I need something around a celeron 333 Mhz, 128 RAM, and a video card with TV out. If you've got the whole machine, cool. If not, then I'll trade for parts.  I also need a coin op (nickels or dimes pref.), Buttons, an ipac or other button converter, and anything else you think I'll need to build my cabinate :)..... including paint.  ;D

HOLY CRAP!!! That's excellent to know. I've been planning on using some sort of metal engraving for some time, but figured I'd have to go WAY overkill and use a CNC router. I'll definitely be contacting you in the future, tho sadly I don't have anything to trade so I'll pay cash. Roughly what does it cost, say for the small CP example you have shown. Or for the knife. And is the pricing/time required based on a linear structure, so that an image 3X the size of comparable complexity would cost basically 3X as much?

I'm so glad to know you can do this *shudder with joy*

could you give us a sample price for something? or show a picture and how long it took to do so we can get an idea how much a job would cost. Thanks
5 MAME cabs and counting...

Ever wonder what full side art looks like?
