Soft Power On and Ipac Help Needed!
« on: September 17, 2003, 02:26:12 pm »
I have the Ipac4 connected to a non-externally powered USB hub and am trying to get the soft power on feature of my motherboard to work. If I press the 1 key on the keyboard it works great, the keyboard is PS2 and plugged directly into the PC. If I press the player 1 start button it does not work. I have tried replacing the non-externally powered USB hub with an externally powered one and this made no difference. I plugged the PS2 keyboard into the Ipac and tested with both USB hubs and the soft power on did not work from the keyboard any more. The obvious problem seems to point to the Ipac/USB setup. I tried all of the below tests with the Ipac plugged into the PS2 port on the PC last night and got the same results. I MUST get the soft power on feature working through the Ipac! Can anyone PLEASE help me with this??? I'm stuck!

I have the PS/2 Ipac and the soft power on works for me.

I may have done some fiddling in the Bios to make it work.

I guess it does work when the Ipac's not connected?

Below where I say connected to USB hub I have tried both the non-externally powered and an externally powered one.

1)  Ipac not connected and keyboard in PS2 port on motherboard = works

2)  Ipac connected to the USB hub and keyboard in the PS2 port on the motherboard = works from keyboard only

3)  Ipac connected to the USB hub and keyboard in the Ipac = No work

4)  Ipac connected to the PS2 port on the motherboard and the keyboard in the Ipac = No work from control panel or keyboard
