Coin-Op warehouse in Hagerstown MD. Closing!
« on: September 17, 2003, 12:55:42 pm »
Hey everyone, PacmanFan here, I just came across a posting on r.g.v.a.
here it is :

Major sale on Saturday Sept. 20 and Sat. Sept.27th at Coinopwarehouse,
727 N. Mulberry Street, Hagerstown, MD.  We will be open 10:30 to
4:30.  I am closing on the building end of the month and need to raise
additional cash for settlement, so a lot of stuff has to go quickly.
We have over 600 machines in stock, thousands of parts - boards,
headers, glasses, cabinets.  Tons of signs, coke machines, penny
scales, jukeboxes, arcade games, shooting galleries, baseball games,
slot machines, bowlers, and plenty of other collectibles!  Bring a
truck and be prepared to take a lot home with you!  Email
lloyd@coinopwarehouse.com with specific questions or call my cell at
703-801-1459.  I am in the mood to deal!  Lloyd

I've been to this place before, 600+ machines! Awesome deals! LLoyd is a good guy and can cut you a deal on any parts / machines you need.
I'm planning on going up this weekend (wife permitting of course). Anyone else from the MD / DC / N.VA / S.PA area interested?

Do you have any idea what kind of slot machines he has?   Real ones or pachislo  ::)

I'd really like a video poker, plus another cab.

You'd have to give Lloyd a call and ask him, I was paying more attention to the video games the last time I went there.

Yeah, that is a Whirlybird I think. I played one of those once too. They are as expensive as all get out now.

AAArrrggghhh!!!

Damn it sux being in New zealand, I could take 10 games out of there right now. It makes me sick to think that I have absolutely zero chance of ever being able to walk in to a room like that in New Zealand let alone be able to buy the stuff.
Thoroughly pissed off now!
Hope some forum members make it there.

Doh!  Saturday again.  I wish i worked a normal work week.  Stupid job.  That would be a long 3 hour ride by myself anyway.  I'm gonna make it to one of these MD events eventually.  Happy hunting to all that go, looks like there'll be some good stuff.

PacManFan,
The pics look great!  I know you have gone up there before.  What are they asking for these cabs?
I know a few weeks ago they were $50 a piece, but those were in rather shotty condition.  The ones on the pics link look to be in decent condition with side art intact.   Do you know what the prices on these will be?  I am not sure if I will be able to make it either way, but I'd like to know if it is worth the attempt.

Mmmm, there is a Red Baron upright. I haven't seen one of those in person since I was a little kid.

Actually, I might have never seen an upright in person, as the one I remember playing was a cockpit.

One of those would look AWESOME next to my Battlezone, it would look almost as cool as it does next to the megatons of Battlezones it is with now.

Are those Sea Wolf's back there?  The first time my wife and I played my new Mame machine together, we stumbled on Sea Wolf and played it most of the night, even with no sound.

That might be kind of cool to grab one of those if it worked.

WonderMellon,
Honestly, I don't know. Give Lloyd a call and ask about a specific machine. Two weeks ago, I got a PacMan cabinet, Galaga marquee, and a 4" trackball for 75$. Lloyd is trying to clear the warehouse, so remember; EVERYTHING must go before the end of the month (2 Saturdays). I bet he'll be cutting deals left and right.

WonderMellon, I hope to see you there! I'm going to go at about 2-3pm this Saturday.

PMF - Read the ad again. I was under the same impression you are that he was closing down and everything had to go but he is "closing on the building". Meaning he is buying the building and needs the funds to do so. Will still get good deals I'm sure but not "Going Out Of Business" kind of deals.

good to hear that he isnt losing his business.  Nothing more depressing then a fellow arcade addict lose his business.

I live in NJ and I am really thinking about going down because I have the day off.

I was just wondering what kind of prices some of the gutted cabs and some of the working cabs would be?  I need to set a limit on how much money i should bring....if I bring a lot i wont have gas money to come home, if i bring a little I wont have enought to spend....

you know how it is...

You can get a mini or a cocktail in the back seat of a full size (meaning rear wheel drive) Oldsmobile.

Unfortunately the tree laying on my house will have to take priority. Bout a hundred feet tall and resting nicely on our chimney. Got two more in the front and a leaner in the back so I'm stayin' home.  :'( On a good note we were only without power for 20 hours.

report:

Nice setup with lots of games, from old to new.  Loyd is very friendly and helpful. Prices on the stuff I asked about seemed reasonable.  I didn't buy anything (I have enough projects right now) - but it's good to know there's a place nearby that will be in business for a while.
