What PS->whatever adapters are you using?
« on: September 17, 2003, 10:13:23 am »
I know where/how to find all the adapters I'm looking for, I just want to know what adapters you guys are using & what you like or dislike about them.

I'm hacking a few PS gamepads in the hopes up creating an all-in-one pedistal for a bunch of console systems (XBox, PS2, GameCube, Dreamcast, & possibly a PC as well...)

From what I know the PS gamepads are the only ones that have adapters to make them work with all of these systems.

What I want to know is:
What adapters do YOU PERSONALLY HAVE? (Or have used)...
Do you like it/them?
Would you recommend it/them?

Thanks guys!

P.S.
Just a reminder... I've been looking around (googling, gamestop, redoctane, etc, etc, etc...) and I pretty much know what's out there... I'm just looking for actual experiences. Thanks!
I'm not a freak!...
Oh wait...
Yes I am...

Use the Boom variant for PSX -> Xbox. It works with digital pads and doesn't need to be done from a dual shock. This includes the memory card port.

Total control 5 for PSX + Saturn -> Dreamcast. Includes the memory card.

MagicGate for PSX -> GameCube as this one doesn't require a DualShock or higher either. It works fine with the Sony Digital pad that I often use for PSX hacks.

PSX -> USB I understand that the KikiJoy X is like the best. It's also widely available at Fry's.

I've heard of problems with the KikiJoy, but maybe that's just cuz I do DDR.  The Kikijoy doesn't support each direction as buttons as well as an axis, so it doesn't work for DDR.

The EMS USB 2 connects two controllers, rather than one, and reads the directions as both 4 buttons and 2 axes.  www.levelsix.com
