Two quick questions...
« on: November 23, 2011, 03:09:12 pm »
Hello all, I've got my MAME cab almost complete, but I have 2 things bothering me as of late, and I can't figure out how to fix them.

First, I can't figure out how to get Windows 7 to turn on when I switch on my power strip. I can't find any "Restore on AC Power Loss" or any setting like that... I'm kinda new to Windows, where can I find this option? I want it to boot straight up when I turn my power strip on.

Second, when I'm playing a MAME game and I press p1 and p2 start at the same time, the game will be exited. How do I deactivate this feature? I have a button for that. (the select game button on my neo geo cabinet), so I find this feature really annoying.

Thanks for the help. xoxo

First A:
The "Restore on AC Power Loss/Power Failure" option isn't controlled by Windows.  It's a BIOS option.  Watch the screen when the computer is booting up to see which key you have to press to enter the BIOS.  It's usually under something called Power Management.

Second A:
In MAME, press tab to bring up the menu.  Go to controls (general) and redefine exit to just ESC.

To answer the second question it sound like you might be using an ipac?
if so reprogram the shift function in winipac so that the shifted p2start has nothing on it. It's default is esc

Can't help with #2, but 1 is easy!

As your PC boots up, enter the setup menu.  Browse through it until you find the option to reboot on power.  (not sure exactly how this is worded...)
