So I assume that means I could only swap out with this list of games?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Namco_System_246#List_of_System_256_games

I could also rip out everything and put together my own MAME machine....but that seems like a waste for a working cabinet.  Does Ultimarc or another company make a conversion card that allows for both the internal board and a seperate MAME computer run in the same cabinet using the same controls/monitor?

System 256 is an enhanced Playstation 2. Hardware specs are unknown.

It has custom operating system restricting what it can play (ie: regular PS2 home games don't work).

Output from the board is either 15K(CGA) or 31K(VGA) selectable via dip switch.

Thanks to you both.  I am also looking at a Tekken 4 Showcase cabinet with a working 37" screen.  He says it is wired for jamma but does not have the computer.  Could that easily be converted to a MAME machine or would it depend on other things I need to find out?  Thanks!
