Rowe R-81 Sound Problem
« on: November 10, 2011, 04:20:35 pm »
I can't get any volume out of my speakers. I have the two 6 by 9's on the top and the two subs on the bottom. The problem with the subs is that there is no sound at all coming from them. The 6 by 9's when plug in and the volume all the way up makes a cracking sounds and then the bass hits and sounds like  :censored:. What could this be.

Hi,

It sounds as if you have lost one side of the amp or input, checkout the the valve base type connector on the mechanism/carousel and the phono cables that are soldered to the back of the socket. Make sure the cartridge is wired one side out of phase if you have the 64 watt Rowe Ami amplifier in the jukebox (601-02179 or 2179).

The bass goes across both channels and the top range is across a channel and ground.
