FS:x-box live kit+capcom vs snk 2

well I bought the kit for $50 day before yesterday and capcom vs snk 2 for $40.
However,my x-box is messed up .bios was flashed with something..I dont have a clue yet.
007 loads/plays fine though.

So I decided to skip online play.
Capcom vs snk 2 works perfect.I went back to the store and they tested the game for me and worked fine there.

anyway selling the kit(never used) comes with headset and the game.
Asking $50 or best offer.
I paid $90 for the package but since I am not playing online anyway.

If you have modded your xbox at all, when you try to install Xbox LIVE, the servers for live flash your bios/harddrive for any mods... if you modded then the xbox is permanently banned from live service.

nope,I opend the box myself and there is no chip there.
I got the box from someone and he said he never installed any chip.
AND,I am not even trying to go online.the game wont even boot to begin with(offline).
Maybe its the reader but again 007 works fine.

so there is no point of me even trying to go online since cvs2 isnt booting.the game however works.
took it over to a friends house and played perfect.

Oh man, he probably used the 007 exploit and loaded a hacked dash on there without a modchip.  Since Live 2.0 dash just came out - it automatically updates your xbox (don't even have to connect to xbox! how crazy is that!! )  And it closes all known font/save game exploits.  Which sucks big time.

If this is what indeed happened, then you may be able to install a modchip and bypass all that crap.

NOW I may have a clue.I remeber there was an update going on without any notification...so I can just install a new dashboard and skip online without any problem right ?
Yeah whatever I not mad at the guy who sold me the box.my cost was around $25 anyway !   (that trade..fssss)

Contact Microsofts repairs.  They will probably fix it (if you explain how you bought it)...

I don't think it is against the warranty to sell it..

Except he opened it to see if there was a chip in it so the warranty is void. MS will still fix it but it will probably cost more than an Xbox from eBay.

I guess you'd need more info on if he reflashed the bios or installed a hacked dash or what.  Then you could figure out if you just need a modchip or a trash can
