Which joystick should I get?
« on: November 05, 2011, 10:59:10 am »
I can't decide between the Happ Competition and the Sanwa JLW-TM-8. Most of the games I will be playing will be 4-way, but I would like 8-way available if need be. I prefer ball-tops, so I know the Happ Comp won't be to my liking as much as the JLW, but I can always modify it to have a ball-top for about USD $3.00. So, which should I buy?

I prefer my JLWs over the Happ Competitions. But mine are set up for 8-way with octagonal restrictors. If you go with JLWs make sure to get some stiffer springs for them.

My advice: get both and try them out in a test control panel. I went through 4 joysticks till I found the one I wanted. Each time I had to rebuild my control panel. Doh!
