Trouble with mame not recognizing my joystick
« on: November 02, 2011, 06:30:55 pm »
I'm trying to get mame to recognize a playstation joystick, with a playstation -> usb adapter.
Everything works in Game Controllers (and in DWJukebox).
I have joystick set to 1 in mame.ini.  I see the "joy 1 button x" in the settings...  But nothing...  I tried to change the settings to set a specific button, and nothing.

Anyone with a clue?  Could this be a direct input problem because of a crap driver?  Its using a default hud driver that came with XP...

Anyway, anyone with an idea, let me know!  Thanks!

Newer versions of MAME require you to assign controller switches in the tab menu. Start a game, hit tab, choose "input (general)" and assign each switch from there via the "player *" menu(s). "Other" is for allocating coin and start switches.
