Arkham City Ending Discussion (Nothing but Spoilers)

Ok Clayface was the Joker, Talia, Strange and Ra are dead, the Joker dies and Clayface "dies".  Also if you found the hints... Harley's pregnant.

These are just some things I noted about the ending:

Talia and Ra's bodies are missing when you go back to play the game after beating it.  This should come as no suprise.... their followers will revive them.

During the boss fight, Clayface made multiple copies of himself. 

Clayface falls into a lazarus pit... one surging with electricity..... No good could come from this.

Harley got pregnant while the Joker was still posioned by titan.

If you read the arkham city stories, the Joker actually gets trapped in AC after his escape from AI.  When he dies, Batman carries his corpse outside AC.



So if they decide to bring the Joker back for a third game they have the following outs:

Ra's could revive him via a Lazarus pit seeing as how he's the only person ever to get the better of Batman.

Clayface mutates into some sort of Joker clone due to falling into the pit right after portraying the Joker.

The "real" Joker was yet another extension of Clayface.

Harley's baby, infected with titan, grows at a rapid pace, becoming essentially a new Joker.  (Hey it's comic book logic.)

The Joker faked his death, and in doing so used Batman to break out of arkham city. 


I honestly don't think they could make a third game without him and as well as it's selling, they will probably make a third game.

Its either going to be the joker faked his death (hey the body he carried out could have been a clayface dupe) or the baby thing, but I think Harley is better as a psycho lover than a psycho mom. It could add a new dimension to her character.

I have a dumb question for you though, are you supposed to do anything to the big Harley speaker box things? I read something somewhere saying you had to spray them with explosive gel like TITAN containers, kinda like the way you have to pop the balloons and disable the cameras?

I think you can blow them up with gel, but that's the hard way.  Use your REC gun and shoot the head off. 

The whole baby thing might be a red herring.  At the end of arkham asylum it showed either Croc, Scarecrow or Bane coming up out of the ocean with a Titan container.  It made you think that Titan and one of those containers would play a major role in the next game and yet it really isn't in there except
for a cameo or two and a fetch quest. It will certainly play a role in the next game, but I doubt it will be a major one.

I beat the riddler finally.  It had me confused because I got all the batman trophies and then nothing....  I wandered around for about an hour and still nothing.... I switched to catwoman for a sec, switched back and then Oracle came on the phone and the final battle was on.  I don't know if that was a glitch or what.  It isn't some spectacular boss battle or anything, but unlike the last game, it is well worth it to track him down.

There's a bunch of Riddler trophies I see but don't know how to hit the switches how they want, Ive just been collecting the ones I can figured I'll keep beating up goons until I have the majority of the "easy trophies" then I'll just look online for the rest.

I finished the mysterious stranger side thing, the phone call killer, and even the sniper one but I cant seem to trigger anymore identity theft "quests"   Ive been going around interrogating "green thugs" and solving riddles. I wish the stories unlocked in some sort of order and not tied to specific riddles. I try to avoid reading "part 2 and 3" without having part 1 unlocked.

Now Im backtracking trying to get all the Harley statues zapped, and trying to clear any "buildings" of riddles and trophies.

I can help you with the more difficult riddler trophies, but you might not want me to, spoils the fun. 

Just in case here are some tips:


1.  You can use explosive gel on question marks.  You can mark up to 3 at a time and remotely detonate them from any distance.  If you zoom in (click the r-stick) you can select an individual target and just detonate it instead of all at once. 

2.  When you see question marks blinking in a pattern they are asking you to repeat that pattern.

3.  When you see a series of neon arrows pointing up, it's asking you to dive bomb into the pressure plate and hit it hard enough to light up all the arrows.  Remember to press B when you land for some extra umph.

4.  When you have to hit multiple question marks within a time limit (and explosive gel won't work) use a batarang quickfire for one and then quickly use the remote batarang for the rest... it saves you a few seconds.  Remember you have a boost button for the remote batarang.

5.  There are two trap rooms in the subway and you'll get a message like "you don't have the right equipment" if you die.  Ignore this message.  You need the line-launcher and line walking upgrade for one and the freeze blast for the other.  It should be obvious which ones to use in which room and how to use them.  Don't worry about getting the trophies until after you diffuse the trap.

6.  Puzzles with multiple pressure pads require you to land on each of the individual pads without touching the ground.  The line launcher, grapnel boost and even rolling can help with this.



I'm trying to do the physical achievements now.  I've got em all done except one for catwoman and one for batman.  The batman one requires me to do a x5 variation combo, which is supposedly easy, but I can't seem to get over x4. 

The catwoman one requires me to do both of her special combo attacks in one combo, which sounds easy and it is... I've done it multiple times, but it won't award it.  I must be doing something wrong. 

The reward really isn't worth it though.  All you get for the physical achievements are the last 5 remaining concept artwork.  What they turn out to be are the promotional black and white renders that you can find on any website.  I'm just doing it because the riddler pisses me off and I don't want to think that there's a challenge of his I can't beat.


Since we are in a spoilers only section, WTF happened to the shark in the Iceberg Lounge?  When the penguin was in charge the thing popped up and tried to eat you constantly, but once the ice melted it disappeared.  I would hate to think that we are to assume that the warm water killed it.  I felt sorry for the thing... it looked like the penguin blinded it.
