u360 rotary joystic
« on: November 01, 2011, 12:16:30 pm »
I'm getting ready to change out my joysticks and put in rotaries. I finsihed all the topics on Bender's mod of the u360 and decided to do that. I was hoping Andy at Ultimarc was putting one out, but he said he wasn't. I have a couple of questions for Bender on his mod:

1) Did you decide to use the 6mm optical unit?
2)How did you restrain the bracket that the rotary unit is screwed to? Without restraint I can see the weight of the brackket pushing the sensor into the rotating part of the optical unit.
3)Did you mill a longer shaft?

I'm getting ready to order my u360's and thought to get the optical units ordered also.

I did find out that since I have the turbotwist 2 spinners, I can hook the optical unit for the joysticks to the control card that came with the spinners.
